first fundraising gala, Building Bridges Leadership Award Gala was held on Friday, December 9th, 2011 at Mon Cheri 12821 Harbor Blvd Ste, Garden Grove, CA 92840 from 6:00pm—9:00pm.

Boat People SOS – California, Inc. has over the past decade provided services to over 5,000 individuals, with a track record of success and has earned the community’s trust. This year marks the first year in which BPSOS-California unveils their recently locally incorporated status to better meet the local needs of our community in California. Proceeds raised from this event will benefit BPSOS-CA.

Westminster Councilman Tri Ta was presented with BPSOS Building Bridges Leadership Award for his instrumental work in building the Vietnamese community in Orange County.

BPSOS-CA will commit to providing crucial services like ESL, computer, citizenship, immigration workshop and clinic, financial literacy and workforce development.

Boat People SOS, Inc. – California (BPSOS-CA) is the locally incorporated affiliate of a national Vietnamese American non-profit organization. The national organization was established by and for Vietnamese immigrants and refugees in 1980 in San Diego, California. Their mission is to empower, organize, and equip Vietnamese individuals and communities in their pursuit of liberty and dignity.
