WHO ARE WE? Lions are: Loving Individuals Offering Needed Services
Lions clubs are a group of men and women who identify needs within the community and work together to fulfill those needs.
The ORANGE COUNTY VIETNAMESE AMERICAN LIONS club is a non-profit organization, a member of the Westminster Chamber of Commerce.

All Lions clubs are part of Lions Clubs International. Lions Clubs International (LCI) is a non-profit secular service organization with over 44,500 clubs and more than 1.3 million members in 206 countries around the world. Lions Clubs International was founded in the United States in 1917 by Melvin Jones, a Chicago businessman. Jones asked, with regard to his colleagues, "What if these men who are successful because of their drive, intelligence and ambition, were to put their talents to work improving their communities?" Jones' personal code, "You can't get very far until you start doing something for somebody else," reminds many Lions of the importance of community service. Since 1917, Lions clubs have aided the blind and visually impaired and made a strong commitment to community service and serving youth throughout the world.

The ORANGE COUNTY VIETNAMESE AMERICAN LIONS club adopts Lions Clubs International’s motto “We Serve” and focuses their service in the Westminster area, where the oldest, largest, and most prominent Little Saigon resides, home of many Vietnamese Americans. Despite the title "Little Saigon", there are also Latinos, Caucasians as well as Cambodian and Laotian immigrants residing in the area.

The ORANGE COUNTY VIETNAMESE AMERICAN LIONS Club participates in a wide variety of service projects that meet the international goals of Lions Clubs International as well as the needs of its local community.

One of the main focus of the ORANGE COUNTY VIETNAMESE AMERICAN LIONS Club is to raise money for worthy causes. All funds raised by the ORANGE COUNTY VIETNAMESE AMERICAN LIONS Club from the general public are used for charitable purposes, and administrative costs are kept strictly separate and paid for by members. Some of the money raised for a club’s charity account goes toward projects that benefit the local community of an individual club.
